Acar

Violet specialises in tenancy law and the related law of obligations. Her practice includes advising clients and litigating on their behalf on tenancy law-related matters, including redevelopments and renovations, lease terminations, defects, rent adjustment proceedings and protection against eviction.

Violet also assists clients in drawing up and negotiating to conclusion temporary and longer term leases. She has an in-depth understanding of both commercial (290 and 230a) and residential tenancy law.

She also assists clients in drafting and negotiating purchase agreements and development agreements, including for office space, logistics centers, factories and healthcare properties. She does this for investors, developers, municipalities, housing associations, retailers and consultants, among others.

After obtaining a Master’s degree in Private Law from VU (Vrije Universiteit) Amsterdam in 2012, Violet started her career in the real estate department of DVDW Advocaten. She joined Straatman Koster advocaten in 2016 and was appointed as a Partner in 2021.

In 2018, Violet completed the specialization course of the Association of Tenancy Lawyers cum laude. Violet regularly publishes articles, including in the Journal of Rental Law in Practice (HIP) and Journal of Rental Law Business Space (TvHB) and regularly teaches courses. As of 2022, she is editor of the journal Huurrecht in Praktijk (HIP).
